![]() selling it now but in knowing I wasn't a fool to buy it in the first place. I'm delighted to learn that my Vito isn't a 'Brand X' sax but a stencilled Yamaha 23! Not w.r.t. I later bought a 1960's Buffet Crampon 'Super Dynaction' (one of the Selmer MK IV competitors?) which I felt had a fuller sound than the Vito. Knowing it's a stencilled Yamaha 23 explains a lot. I played the Vito for many years and was very happy with it. I just discovered that it used to be a LeBlanc brand name for 'student instruments' (made my Yamaha, Jupiter, etc.). I assumed it was a little-known 'Brand X' sax. Up until now, I knew absolutely nothing about the 'Vito' brand. It was much later that I discovered that there were sop and bari saxes too. ![]() I had to ask the guy in the music shop what the difference was between alt and tenor! I tried both and I liked the 'feel' and sound of the tenor so I hired that rather than an alt. When I first hired the Vito back in 1996, I knew absolutely nothing about saxes. ![]()
